    Learn how you can make a business stand out from the crowd. With specialized expertise in marketing, you can play a significant role in helping businesses " new and old, big and small " thrive as products and services continuously enter the marketplace. This specialization equips you with the knowledge and understanding to effectively reach your future customers. Learn techniques and best practices in consumer behaviour and decision making, leverage digital platforms to spread your message, and master social media for enterprises " all to successfully reach and build relationships with your target audience.

    Graduating students who have fulfilled the requirements for a Bachelor of Business Administration degree may apply for a Specialization in Marketing & Consumer Culture, if they have successfully completed 4 credits from a core set of courses with a minimum grade of 65% in each course.  Course topics include Market Research, Marketing, Advertising, Retail Marketing, Branding, Communications, Organizational Analysis, Online Marketing, and Operations Management.  

    Note

    • Students pursuing a Specialization in Marketing & Consumer Culture are strongly encouraged to develop a wider foundation in the social sciences.

    Don't just study marketing " turn theory into practice through hands-on learning opportunities to market to consumers in the Peterborough and Durham regions.
    • Leave your mark at Trent through a fourth-year legacy project or undertake a community-based research project with local businesses
    • Complete 100-hours of hands-on professional experience with a local business through the fourth year placement course or consider the fourth year internship course, a 6, 8 or 12 month paid work opportunity with companies or organizations in Ontario (a break in your studies between your second last and last term) and students must return to Trent after the internship for their final term.
    • Compete in local and national business competitions, including Jeux du Commerce, Pitch It, Durham Ideas Den, and Bears' Lair

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
