    About

    About the course This course provides an education in the conceptualisation, design, construction and representation of buildings and pther structures of a range of types and scales. You'll develop the ability to integrate information drawn from a range of subject areas, and acquire advanced knowledge and skills that will prepare you for careers in the creative and diverse world of architectural practice. The course provides core content in areas of technology, structures and professional practice. Application of material from these subjects occur in design studio units that form the primary mode of teaching in the course. You'll have the opportunity to engage in Work Integrated Learning and placements through practicum units. In addition to the core theoretical and practical subjects, you'll have the opportunity of completing option units, or a research project, or a specialisation in a related area of expertise.

    Admission Requirements To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—(a) a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent.

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENT English competency English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.     This course offers a two-year pathway for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a three-year pathway if you have completed a bachelor degree in another area and would like to change the direction of your career.

    Our master’s course equips you with the skills you need to go on to become an architect. You could practice in a range of roles across private and government sectors, both in Australia and internationally. There are also other opportunities in related areas of urban design, landscape architecture, architectural conservation, city and regional planning, architectural illustration and modelling, building information modelling, furniture design, project management, research into construction materials, building and the built environment, and academia.
