    Master of Clinical Audiology

    About

    Make a difference as a qualified allied health professional in hearing and balance. Our two-year Master of Clinical Audiology degree provides you with the skills and knowledge to assess, and provide rehabilitation for, the hearing and balance systems across the lifespan. Receive specialist training in First Nations ear and hearing health, and be equipped to work in regional, rural, and remote locations across Australia. During our Master of Clinical Audiology degree, you will be required to attend compulsory clinical placements in various health contexts with adults, children, and families.

    The course also includes four blocks of 5-day face-to-face compulsory teaching intensives.

    Interstate travel may be required to meet your clinical hour requirements. We recognise that you may bring different skills and life experiences, and we welcome a range of backgrounds. There are flexible study options, including part-time, online and face-to-face learning to support you in completing your studies whilst maintaining additional commitments.

    Our Master of Clinical Audiology degree offers international study opportunities and welcomes both First Nations and international students with dedicated support services on hand to support you through your degree.

    Quota

    This is a competitive course that accepts approximately 24 students per year. This means that although you may meet the admission requirements, you may not necessarily be offered a place. Subquotas are in place for First Nation and NT Resident applicants.

    Admission criteria

    Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with at least a pass average (GPA of 4.00). Admission to this course is competitive. Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit and the number of available places.

    Essential requirements

    If you are undertaking a course with work integrated learning you must demonstrate compliance with the following checks and requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct documentation is obtained prior to commencing placements. A national and/or international Police check and a current Working with Children check is required regarding suitability to undertake placements. The majority of health facilities will require students to present a complete immunisation schedule, and a First Aid certificate.


    English language requirements

    INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

    To gain entry into Charles Darwin University, all Higher Education applicants must satisfy the University's English Language Proficiency Requirements for their chosen course of study.

    The minimum English language requirement for this course is met by either undertaking previous education in an English-speaking country or undertaking one of the following English language tests and obtaining the minimum requirements listed below.

    IELTS Academic ModuleA minimum overall score of 7.0 with no band less than 6.5.
    Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)A minimum overall score of 176, with no skill below 169.
    Common European Framework Certificate of English ProficiencyA minimum overall grade of C1, valid for three years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU.
    Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic moduleA minimum overall score of 65 with no score lower than 58.
    TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT)A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 21.

    * All tests are valid for two years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU, unless otherwise specified.
    * Where applicable, international applicants must also satisfy the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) English language requirements for student visa applications.

They work in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, audiology clinics, ENT practices, or hearing aid centers. Clinical audiologists are involved in diagnosing and treating hearing and balance disorders in patients of all ages. They conduct audiological assessments, provide hearing aid fittings, cochlear implant programming, and offer rehabilitation services.
