    The construction industry is one of the largest and continually expanding industries in the world. Bond’s Master of Construction Practice equips graduates with essential knowledge, understanding and versatile skills fundamental to the successful management and delivery of complex construction projects.

    With a program designed in close consultation with prominent professional industry boards and delivered in collaboration, by both academic and industry professionals, students will learn about the latest techniques and technologies in a mix of learning environments from the classroom to practical experiences incorporating industry guest involvement, skills sessions, projects, and practical assessment pieces replicating workplace tasks.

    Entry Requirements

    Recognised 4 year Bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree

    4 year Bachelor degree - 4 point grading scale

    Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any field
    (Note - This program is not available to graduates of Bond's Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying, students may consider the Master of Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery as an alternative.)

    English language proficiency requirements

    Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

    Career pathways include building and construction management, contract administration, site management, facilities management, building services, quantity surveying, property development, project management, cost management and general management. 

    Outcomes

    Construction manager

    Manage and plan construction projects and oversee their progress in a timely and cost-effective manner consistent with an overarching strategy. Responsibilities include coordination of workers and subcontractors, commissioning, and installation of infrastructure, managing budgets, and tracking tools, materials, equipment, and inventory.

    Estimator

    You will take an active role in the tendering of contracts through the analysis of proposals, plans, specifications, and other data in preparing time, cost, and labour first principles estimates for construction projects. You will be required to maximize project margin and add value to the construction process through proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting. 

    Cost planning manager

    Manage large budgets to successfully bring large-scales projects to life. Value management, cost optimisation, and relationship building are just a few of the skills required for this career.

    Contracts manager

    Manage and own the contractual elements for the successful delivery of projects. Responsibilities include execution of agreements, as well as monitor and manage contractual and legal compliance effectively.
