    About

    In the Master of Creative Industries, you’ll develop an understanding of a range of approaches to contemporary production, distribution and audience engagement in the creative industries. You’ll advance your knowledge of creative media project design, aesthetics and management. And you’ll have access to professional-quality studios for screen production, performance, music recording and radio production; industry-standard digital workstations; a specially equipped theatre for screenings; and digital production tools.

    Whether you’re an aspiring or experienced media professional, the Master of Media and Communications will give you the skills you need to expertly respond to the challenges associated with the changing mediascape in ethical and socially engaged ways. It focuses on digital production, distribution, and audience communication and engagement strategies, as well as on online journalism and media practices. Armed with such contemporary knowledge and skills, you’ll accelerate your career in fast-moving contemporary media and communications environments across the world.

    • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent

    or

    • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, and two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
    Master of Media and Communications
    • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65

    or

    • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent, and two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning

    or

    • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65 and two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning

    What if I don't meet the requirements?

    If you don’t meet the English requirements for your course, you may be issued an offer of study that includes an English preparation program at the Macquarie University English Language Centre (ELC). If you receive a packaged offer, you can apply for a single student visa covering both your English preparation program and your course.

    The length of your English program will depend on your current English level and the minimum English requirements for your course. Our admissions team will be able to recommend the number of weeks required when you submit your application.
