    About

    This course is intended for aspiring leaders in finance. It is distinguished by its flexibility, which allows you to tailor your degree to suit your interests. In addition to the six-subject core, which provides a solid foundation in finance, you may choose to complete a six-subject major plus four additional electives, or you may complete ten electives of your choice. The majors and electives allow you to develop specialised expertise in investment management, corporate finance, banking, financial technology, sustainable finance and ESG, and financial advice.

    The teaching approach is interactive, with an emphasis on real-world applications and critical thinking. The curriculum makes extensive use of case studies and other authentic learning experiences, which ensure that theoretical knowledge is enhanced through practical application.

    The course establishes a solid foundation in the principles of finance, which is enhanced by developing valuable analytical skills and the ability to apply their knowledge in real-world situations.     The course aims to provide a unique opportunity to acquire the skills and academic qualifications necessary to succeed in the finance industry. Graduates will acquire the requisite knowledge required to meet the Affiliate membership with the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).

    Admission requirements

    To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the following criteria.

    Applicants must have the following:

    • Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, with more than 75% of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included)

    Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11027 Graduate Certificate in Finance.

    The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL iBT: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

    International students

    Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
