    Overview

    • International law is essential in maintaining global peace and security, facilitating international cooperation, protecting human rights and sovereignty, and is a crucial field of legal practice.
    • Delivered by dedicated academics and professionals, the International Law specialisation covers areas of practice including business law, commercial litigation, humanitarian law, European Union law, environmental law and international family law, all with an advanced international focus.
    • Within the Master of Laws, you will complete two core courses focused on research skills, four elective courses focusing on international law and a choice of one free-standing elective across the degree.
    • Study the Master of Laws (International Law) completely online in one year when studying full-time or two years part-time and choose from three different start times throughout the year (February, May or September). Options to fast-track your study are available.

    Entry requirements

    • Completion of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours); a Juris Doctor; a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, or an international equivalent.
    • Applicants who do not hold a law degree but have an equivalent qualification approved by a legal profession admissions board are also eligible to apply for entry.
    • If you have completed the UniSQ Juris Doctor you will receive 50% specific credit towards particular components of the Master of Laws. If you have completed a Juris Doctor degree from another institute, you are able to apply for credit as per the Credit and Exemption policy.

    English language requirements

    You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

    If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study with our English language partner, the Union Institute of Language (UIL).
