    Overview

    • Are you interested in focusing your legal expertise in public law? Expand your career into an area of law that governs the relationship between individuals and the state. Public law is fundamental to the functioning of a democratic society, ensuring power is exercised lawfully and citizens’ rights are protected.
    • With courses developed by senior legal professionals and academics, you will be able to choose four courses from a range of areas of public law, including government accountability, advanced health law, native title law and policy, and sustainable environmental governance.
    • Complete the Master of Laws (Public Law) in one year when studying full-time or two years part-time. Study fully online to upskill while balancing work or life commitments

    Entry requirements

    • Completion of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours); a Juris Doctor; a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, or an international equivalent.
    • Applicants who do not hold a law degree but have an equivalent qualification approved by a legal profession admissions board are also eligible to apply for entry.
    • If you have completed the UniSQ Juris Doctor you will receive 50% specific credit towards particular components of the Master of Laws. If you have completed a Juris Doctor degree from another institute, you are able to apply for credit as per the Credit and Exemption policy.

    English language requirements

    You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

    If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study with our English language partner, the Union Institute of Language (UIL).
