Our fast-track trimester timetable makes it easy to tackle a double degree at Bond. In fact, you can complete two degrees here in less time than you could graduate with just one at most other universities.

Bond’s Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice enables you to become an accredited practicing Dietitian (ADP) in just four years of study.

The Bachelor of Health Sciences is a broad-based degree designed to develop your understanding of applied sciences, including the anatomical, molecular, physiological, and psychological processes of the human body, providing a strong foundation for the Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice (MNDP).

Bond’s Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice is the highest-level nutrition and dietetic master’s degree available in Australia. Benefit from the program’s exceptional 20-week research internship with a focus on global nutrition citizenship and gain 24 weeks of practical internship experience in traditional areas of practice such as clinical dietetics. Gain that competitive edge in the job market by completing this AQF extended Level 9 master’s degree in a compact timeframe of two years. Before entering the workforce, students can prepare for the program and accreditation requirements through our program charter.

Studying both programs at Bond will enable you to explore areas of study such as anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, biomechanics, motor learning and control, as well as sports nutrition and exercise prescription and planning for both athletic and non-athletic populations.

General Secondary Education Certificate 85%

Grade average of final year results. Converted to a percentage scale where 50% = pass if otherwise reported.

General Secondary Education Certificate (Successful Completion) and required SAT score 1020

Overall test score. Where multiple test results have been presented, the overall test result providing the best rank will be used.

Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

Work and Life Experience

Another way to gain entry into a Bond program is by demonstrating your work and life experience. Your professional and para-professional qualifications and experience can be considered in your application, including some creative arts, language and civil aviation qualifications, memberships of professional associations for which qualifying exams are taken, and police, defence and emergency services experience. Keep in mind that if the program has prerequisite subject requirements, you will still need to meet these.
The Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)

If you did not complete Year 12, or do not have any formal academic qualifications, you can sit the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) and use this result to apply for entry into this program.
Work Experience

You may use prior work experience to apply for entry into this program. To do so, you will need to provide documentation of your employment history, including providing a statement from your employer about your position, time in the role, and a brief overview of the role you performed.

Individuals with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree have many different career options. Graduates can pursue further studies for a career as a dietitian.

According to Job Outlook, the number of Dietitians grew strongly over five years, from 3,700 in 2011 to 4,000 in 2016.

Bond’s Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice program has been designed to prepare graduates with the professional qualifications required to apply their skills and experience across a range of areas.

Graduate outcomes

Dietitian

Dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy to people of all ages in a range of settings including hospitals, aged care facilities, outpatient clinics, sporting organisations and online (telehealth), and offer support in making dietary changes to either prevent or manage a specific health condition, or for maximising performance as an athlete.

Researcher

Dietetic graduates with an interest in research can work in an array of health and research settings including universities, the food industry, hospitals and health services, national government departments and research institutes. As the field of food and nutrition is broad, nutrition-related research projects are vast and can include food science (the physical, biological and chemical components of food), the psychology of eating and behaviour change, and clinical nutrition. 

Nutritionist

Public health nutritionists work with groups, communities, and populations to promote and maintain health and wellbeing through planned nutrition initiatives. Common settings where public health nutritionists work include national and international government health departments, local community development organisations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services and organisations, not-for-profit agencies, schools, and the food industry.

Food industry consultant

Graduates with dietetic qualifications can consult to the food industry in a range of ways. For example, they can provide nutrition training for staff working in the food industry, provide ingredient, recipe and menu reviews to ensure both adequate nutrition and food and environment sustainability, work in food industry regulation initiatives and new product development.
