    About

The Master of Translation (MTr) is a 45-credit, 4-term Master’s program including a Co-op option, aiming to train language professionals for today’s language industry. Modular and flexible, it includes a common core of 11 courses: 6 optional courses (18 units) in translation (either English to French or French to English) and writing and 5 compulsory courses (15 units) in related fields. Students then choose two elective modules, equivalent to 12 units, consisting either of two coordinated blocks of two courses allowing them to further develop their skills, or one coordinated block of two courses plus a capstone project in which they reflect on their learning and produce a translation portfolio, or a practicum to gain more work experience.

The core courses offer a grounding in general and specialized translation (including in high- demand subject areas), as well as revision, terminology, language technologies, translation theories, and professional aspects of the language industry.
