Master's Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools, Third Subject (Certificate (Supplementary Course))

    About

The course is generally divided into an introductory phase and a specialisation phase. The introductory phase corresponds to studies in the Interdisciplinary Bachelors Degree Programme; the specialisation phase corresponds to studies in the Masters Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. The supplementary programme leading to a certificate is worth at least 95 CP, and corresponds to full-time study lasting four semesters. Students are not required to write a final thesis, nor to complete practical training or courses in education sciences. At the end of the programme, students must provide evidence of language proficiency in individual subjects. The Examination Regulations of the Supplementary Programme leading to a Certificate contains further information about this. The course sequence for the subjects that students can take is also illustrated in the Examination Regulations. Students wishing to take English Studies must prove that they have spent a three-month study-relevant period abroad.

Students wishing to take the supplementary programme leading to a certificate should have the skills required in the teaching profession: enjoyment of imparting knowledge to children and adolescents, taking their different needs into account. In addition, much of the work in schools is characterised by exchange with parents, education specialists and other teaching staff. For this reason, communication and teaching skills, an interest in the chosen subjects and good time management are important factors in this profession.
