Masters Teacher Training Course for Technical Education for Engineers (LBS-SprintING) (Master of Education)

About

The degree programme is divided into teaching methodology in the vocational subject area, worth 23 credit points, the teaching subject, worth 60 credit points, and Vocational and Business Education, worth 22 credit points. The degree programme concludes with a written Masters thesis, worth 15 credit points. In addition, students must prove that they have met the condition of completing 8 credit points each in the vocational subject area and in Vocational and Business Education. In accordance with Annex 5 of the Ordinance on Masters Degrees for Teacher Training in Lower Saxony (Nds. MasterVO-Lehr), students without a relevant vocational qualification must instead complete 52 weeks of practical training before registering their Masters thesis. Students wishing to teach the subject of Physical Education must prove that they have passed the entrance examination specified in the Regulations for determining Aptitude for the Subject of Physical Education at Leibniz UniversitÃ¤t Hannover.

Completion of the Masters Teacher Training Course for Technical Education for Engineers (LBS-SprintING) is the prerequisite for applying for the preparatory phase of teacher training for technical education. The degree programme was explicitly designed for students with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering who wish to teach at a vocational school instead of working as engineers.

How to Apply

You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
