    About

    Bangor university is delivering the C21 north Wales Graduate entry to medicine 4 year programme (MBBCh) in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine. The programme is entirely based in north Wales with placements across the region and we aim to train the very best doctors for Wales and more widely in the UK by providing high quality teaching, and an inspiring learning experience based around increased clinical contact.

    What is C21 north Wales / gogledd Cymru?

    The C21 north Wales/ gogledd Cymru course is delivered in partnershipbetween the School of Medical Sciences at Bangor University and Cardiff University School of Medicine. It provides graduate entry students with the opportunity to undertake all their medical degree in north Wales.

    Students on this Medicine programme will broadly follow the same curriculum as those based in Cardiff but with a greater focus on community medicine through a range of clinical placements in varied environments including a full year at a GP Surgery,time in large teaching hospitals, mountain medicine and rural environments. At Bangor University, students will also experience small group teachingand award-winning clinical teaching at the University Health Board.

    The C21 north Wales/ gogledd Cymru course accepts high performing students from recognised feeder stream courses linked to the School of Medicine’s Graduate Entry Programme and also students already accepted onto A100 programme who wish to transfer after successful completion of their first year. It aims to offer comprehensive preparation for a rewarding working life as a Foundation Doctor in the NHS andthecareer beyond. Thecourse is structured to allowstudentsto acquire the necessary knowledge, clinical skills and professional attitudes required by the General Medical Council within an integrated spiral curriculum.The course is designedto produce great clinicians who understand people and the environment in which we live.

    Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of Secondary School Leaving Certificate/ Senior High School qualification (Tawjihi) with minimum 65% pass AND International Foundation Programme.
  • A Levels or International Baccalaureate - see course pages for specific entry requirements.

    Mature students will be considered on a case by case basis.

    Entry into Year 2 will be considered for students with a HND or at least one year of study at a University overseas or in the UK.

    If you do not meet our requirements then we will consider you for entry onto the International Year Zero.
     

    English Program Requirements

    IELTS 6.0 (5.5) or equivalent. Some courses have higher English Language Requirements.

    For students educated in English or from an English speaking country we may be able to waive the requirement, if you can provide evidence that you achieved a minimum of a C or equivalent in your high school English (higher for some courses) or a letter from your University confirming your bachelor degree was taught in English.
