Migration and Global Development MA

Do you want to know what drives people to emigrate from and within the Global South? Do you want to learn about the effects of migration on countries and families left behind? How do migration policies shape migrants’ life-chances? Our Masters will give you the knowledge to analyse and address these and other questions.

You'll gain specialised knowledge and transferable skills in areas such as:

• migration policies
• refugee rights
• development strategies
• humanitarian assistance.

You'll develop your critical thinking and effective communication. And you'll learn to approach problems with empathy and creativity.

Our interdisciplinary approach will give you a distinctive, critical grounding in international development. You're taught migration studies by faculty with extensive knowledge from working in the field. And you’ll become part of the research community in the Sussex Centre for Migration Research, located within the School of Global Studies.

Degree requirementsBachelors degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/5.0 or 2.8/4.0.Subject-specific requirementsYour qualification should preferably be in a social sciences or humanities subject; alternatively, you should have relevant professional experience or engagement. IELTS (Academic)

Standard level (6.0 overall, including at least 5.5 in each component).
