What you'll study
If you’re a dentistry graduate or dentistry clinical practitioner who is interested in exploring the latest clinical scientific developments in Minimally Invasive Clinical Dentistry treatments and learning techniques that we use in our world-class dentistry research, then this programme is for you.
This MSc will develop your knowledge of the principles underlying the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of dental materials used in Minimally Invasive Clinical Dentistry, giving you all-round expertise in this innovative field.
Modules focus on different populations, including children and older people, so that you can employ approaches that will effectively encourage oral dental hygiene in your clinical population. You’ll also learn a range of prevention and dental disease control management strategies and techniques, allowing you to see improvements in your patient’s dental health, without the drawbacks of more invasive treatments.
You’ll have the advantage of practical clinical experience, using Minimally Invasive techniques in our patient clinics. You’ll also attend Community Dental Services during your Older Population and Dental Care with MI Approaches module.
The course furthermore provides modules on skills such as public speaking and positive psychology techniques that will boost your clinical effectiveness.
All of the topics you cover will be examined in relation to risk assessment, patient case management and treatment planning, so you can readily apply your knowledge to your own dentistry clinical practice setting.
