The program in Modern Languages is designed to prepare students for a variety of fields, including teaching, publishing, translating and interpreting, advertising, health care, public relations, international business, and government service. The minor or double-major in French or Spanish provides excellent pre-professional training for fields such as law, medicine, journalism or business, and international relations. Specifically, the objective of the undergraduate program is to develop an appreciation of the languages and literatures of a multi-cultural society. With 45 hours of electives in the curriculum, the modern language major is perfect for a double major or two minors. The program offers concentrations in French and Spanish.

2. English Proficiency - you must have one of the following
- High school curriculum taught in English
- SAT - EBRW subscore of 500
- English Accuplacer - score of 250
- English proficiency test: TOEFL (iBT 79), IELTS (6.5), Duolingo (100)
3. English Placement - you must have one of the following
- 3.0 GPA - converted from your high school transcripts into US grading scale by our admissions coordinator
- SAT - EBRW subscore of 500

- English profociency test: TOEFL (iBT 79), IELTS (6.5), Duolingo (100)
4. Math Placement - you must have one of the following
- 3.0 GPA* - converted from your high school transcripts into US grading scale by our admissions coordinator
- SAT - Math subscore of 510
- Math Accuplacer - score of 250
*This will place you in the lowest available level for Math. You may be asked to take a placement test in order to place higher.
4. Copy of Current Valid Passport
All documents can be submitted as PDF attachments via email. Official transcripts can be sent to us electronically or mailed in a sealed envelope directly from the school. Please make sure all transcripts are sent to the Office of International Affairs (International Student Office) - [email protected]. You may choose to mail physical documents to the address provided below.

Step 1 – Completing the Application
All sections of the application are to be completed including submission of the application. Applications are not processed unless submitted by the applicant. Please call 318.257.2924 or email if you have any questions.
TIP: You will need to have the following information handy when completing your application
- Names and contact information for references – some programs require them
- Names and dates of all post-secondary Universities attended where credit was attempted (whether or not credit was earned)
- Date of most recent or highest GRE/GMAT test and the registration number. (Not required for Executive MBA, Concurrent MAcc/MBA, or Graduate Certificate applicants) The test must be no older than 5 years.
- Unofficial transcripts for uploading
- International students — date of most recent or highest TOEFL/IELTS test score; scores cannot be older than 2 years of age
- International students completing ELS 112 Certification — upload a copy of the ELS Certificate
- International student — English translation of foreign transcripts
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended must be submitted
Step 2 – Creating Your Account
- Click here to APPLY NOW.
- Select Create an account under “First-time users.”
- Enter your email address, first name, last name and birthdate.
- Check your email for a temporary PIN and enter on screen, and login in.
- Create a password. Password must have:
- At least one letter
- At least one capital letter
- At least one number
- Be at least 12 characters
- Once you’ve set your password, Click “Start New Application” on the next screen and select “Graduate Application” From the drop down menu.
