    Learn French, German or Spanish with politics. Develop your modern language skills and understanding of politics in other societies and cultures on this 4 year degree course.

    Spend a year of this 4 year degree abroad on a workplace, teaching or university placement. Develop your language skills while learning about politics, history and culture in the French, German or Spanish speaking world.

    Whichever language you choose, you'll:

    • become immersed in the language and familiar with how it is spoken
    • become familiar with political debates across different societies
    • study societies where your chosen language is spoken
    • develop the skills to interpret cultures and their beliefs

    Choose topics and gain expertise in areas that interest you most, including:

    As a modern languages and politics graduate, you can pursue a range of careers, including French, German or Spanish speaking roles.

    These will make the most of your skills in:

    We also focus on developing your employment skills throughout your time with us. This includes a compulsory module in your first year.

    Modern language graduates have gone on to careers in:

    • speech and language therapy
    • publishing, advertising and marketing
    • information and communication technology

    In addition, studying politics can lead to jobs in politics, the civil service, think tanks or campaign organisations.

    Many of our graduates go on to further study. This includes subjects such as interpreting and translating, law, accountancy, management and international relations.
