You will learn the theoretical of strength and conditioning which will include the development of muscular force, the use of technology to measure performance, athlete profiling and the design of annual training programmes.

This will be applied in subsequent modules where the knowledge will be applied to create effect training programmes including the development of lifting techniques, and development of shorter-term training programmes.

This knowledge, skills and application will then be put into practice via a work placement focusing upon strength and conditioning practices.  By the end of this students will have followed a theory to applied to practice model, which would enhance their employment opportunities.

Additionally, a key focus of the course is researching within strength and conditioning.  The research skill module will lead into a double credit project module, which will allow you explore deeply your project area and develop individual researching skills and practice.
