MSc in Computer Engineering (English)

About

The Department of Computer Engineering aims to provide its students with skills to apply engineering design and development principles for constructing hardware and/or software systems of varying complexity, while considering realistic constraints such as cost, manufacturability, safety and environmental concerns as well as usability, aesthetics and simplicity. Department of Computer Engineering is well aware of the constantly changing technology which in return results in need of a continuously evolving education system and hence supports the academicians and the students about the importance of life-long learning besides the comprehensive engineering education, to update the knowledge by following the state of the art developments. Finally, the department aims to graduate engineers who inherit excellent information and experience on both theory and practice.

Second Cycle Masters Degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Engineering is awarded to students who have completed all the courses (120 ECTS including graduation thesis) who scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00 / 4.00 and completed the graduation thesis with a successful presentation.

Entry Requirements

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) To be a graduate of any bachelors degree program. Min. Graduation Degree should be : 2.30 / 4.00 One of the following exams must be obtained: GRE: Min. 151 or GMAT: 465 or ALES: Min. 60 Quantitative The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Turkish. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

English Program Requirements

Students who have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programmes provided in English, are obligated to take the Yasar University English Proficiency Test (FLAT). Exam registration is completed during the matriculation process. Direct entry to first year of the program is achieved with a minimum score of 65/100 in this exam. Students achieving below this score will be required to take a year of English preparation before entering the faculty.

Exemption from the English Preparation Year may also be gained by submitting passing scores in one of the following equivalent English Language Tests:
TOEFL IBT
CAE
CPE
PTE

The Yasar University FLAT Examination is not valid for PhD Candidates. Students who are applying to PhD program must submit one of the exams listed above.

According to the legislation accepted by the State Higher Education Council of Turkish Republic, IELTS is not accepted as a valid examination for English language exemption at all educational degrees.

Career

MSc program in Computer Engineering prepares students for technically demanding careers in industry or related fields. Graduates with Computer Engineering specialization, selected from areas like HW and computer architecture, computer communications and networks, software may find employment in both state and private organizations.
