About

With the recent technological developments, environmental awareness and humanitarian goals, we witness considerable efforts for improvement in manufacturing and service systems. We may categorize some of these efforts as follows: Efficiency, Cost reduction, Lean production and business, Speed, Quality, Safety and security, Sustainability and resilience These efforts span all sectors such as: health, energy, logistics, agriculture, defense, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment. In the Industrial Engineering Department of YaÅŸar University, we are committed to train and educate the human resources with the qualifications required by the above sectors. Particularly at the graduate level, we aim to provide an education for those who will be working at global teaching and research institutions such as universities, R&D departments of organizations, national and international science foundations, etc. We promote interdisciplinary work and education with our flexible curriculum and strong academic staff. As part of the programs administered within YaÅŸar University Graduate School of Social Sciences and of Natural and Applied Sciences: Students that are admitted will be granted full scholarship.

Second Cycle, Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering is awarded to students who have scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses and a thesis (120 ECTS). The programme has three required courses (including Research Methods and Ethicsâ€ and Seminarâ€ courses), one restricted elective course and four elective courses.

Entry Requirements

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) To be a graduate of any bachelors degree program. Min. Graduation Degree should be: 2.30/4.00 Students must obtain one of the following exams: GRE: Min. 151 or GMAT: 465 or ALES: Min. 60 Quantitative The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Turkish. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

English Program Requirements

Students who have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programmes provided in English, are obligated to take the Yasar University English Proficiency Test (FLAT). Exam registration is completed during the matriculation process. Direct entry to first year of the program is achieved with a minimum score of 65/100 in this exam. Students achieving below this score will be required to take a year of English preparation before entering the faculty.

Exemption from the English Preparation Year may also be gained by submitting passing scores in one of the following equivalent English Language Tests:
TOEFL IBT
CAE
CPE
PTE

The Yasar University FLAT Examination is not valid for PhD Candidates. Students who are applying to PhD program must submit one of the exams listed above.

According to the legislation accepted by the State Higher Education Council of Turkish Republic, IELTS is not accepted as a valid examination for English language exemption at all educational degrees.

Industrial Engineering, as a discipline emerging from this point of view, contributes to production and service systems using analytical problem solving techniques, information technologies, and certain social sciences. In the frame of these references, Industrial Engineerings scope of research and education is to search the ways of increasing quality and productivity by using scarce resources effectively. So, it provides opportunities for good positions in manufacturing industries, health services, communication, food sector, education, logistics, banks, consulting firms, utility companies, public firms, even planning parts of social projects.
