USU offers an interdisciplinary certificate program in museum studies. The certificate program is unique in the state in that it can be earned as a complement to a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in any field. The program educates students in museum administration, collections management and care, and interpretation and exhibition skills.
Students in the program take classes from nearly two dozen departments and programs across the USU campus, and it serves as a complement to a variety of majors, including anthropology, art history, history, and more. Students can take classes in areas such as accounting, management, professional writing, art, public speaking, and communications to help them develop skills needed for graduate school in museum studies and various careers in museums.
