Music (Areas of Elective Studies)

In addition to the common courses for all elective studies areas, each student seeking this degree must fulfill the requirements for one of the four elective studies areas listed below. At least 36 total hours need to be at the advanced level. See the music advisor for more details.

Bachelor of Music Areas of Elective Studies:

1. Music Education: Choral Program
   (Note: Music Education (Choral) prepares students for Texas All-Level (EC-12) Certification.)
   • Voice
   • Piano
   • Organ
2. Music Education: Instrumental Program
   (Note: Music Education (Instrumental) prepares students for All-Level (EC-12) Certification.)
   • Woodwind
   • Brass
   • Percussion
   • Strings
3. Elective Studies in Music Marketing
4. Elective Studies in Nonprofit Leadership

Use ApplyTexas or the Common App to apply. Submit just one application. The application is where you’ll indicate to be reviewed with or without ACT or SAT test scores. Be sure to complete the short admissions essay and tell us about your achievements and extracurricular activities. Pay the $90 Application Fee for international students ($75 for U.S. applicants) when you submit your online application.
