About

After your foundation year, thecourse initially deliversa broad-based curriculum during the first year,withopportunities forspecialisationand professional development. Our informative Masterclass seriesis designed toenhanceyourcareerplanning, involving internationally renowned guest speakers and visiting artists from the creative industries.

In yourfirst year, youll focus on instrumental proficiency and creativity through ensemble participation and one-to-one lessons with leading specialists. In addition to examining significant historical and cultural eras of music, youll develop fundamental creative skills in arranging, applied composition and music technology.

In year two you are given the opportunity tospecialisewithin the musical fields of your interest and skill set. In the final year, you consolidate your learning, deepening your individual creativity in a personal body of portfolio work.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applicants who have successfully passed a diploma from a community college, intermediate diploma or associate degree with an overall mark of C+ or better will be considered for undergraduate entry.

Equivalent qualifications

English language requirements are shown on individual course pages. Generally, this is shown as an IELTS grade, however we accept a range of equivalent qualifications.

As a general guide:

For undergraduate courses we require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent

For postgraduate courses, we require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent

For the International Foundation Year, we require IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum 4.0 in each component) in UKVI IELTS for UKVI (Academic)

The approved equivalent qualifications list includes the following:

Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

University of Salford English language courses

Regional-based qualifications

Majority English Speaking Countries as deemed by UKVI

Medium of English Institutions
