Year 1 core modules
Acting Techniques and Performance
Apply appropriate acting techniques to a live production and reflect on your development throughout. You develop a wide range of skills including communication, organisation and practical skills such as flair, professionalism and application of technique.
Dance Techniques
Develop dance skills including communication and organisation, and practical skills such as focus, projection, interpretation and style in line with the musical theatre industry. You demonstrate your work on the styles and personalities of past jazz dance icons which is further enhanced by masterclasses with industry professionals.
Musical Theatre in Context
Investigate and develop your understanding of the historical, social, political, cultural and economic development of musical theatre and share this understanding with your peers through discussion, debate and presentation. You also gain an understanding of self-reflection.
Singing Techniques, Vocal Anatomy and Performance
Explore and develop your understanding of the ever-changing landscape of singing techniques, vocal anatomy and performance.
Work Ready Experience
Apply the knowledge and skills you have gained across all modules to two live briefs. You work in performance teams and take on the responsibilities of one of the roles studied to support the creation of a live piece of theatre – directed by the tutor, as part of the SRCRep. There are two performances across the academic year where you are responsible for the performance of the shows, including a full-length play.
Year 2 core modules
Acting for Camera
You are introduced to key performance techniques in modern media to support research, rehearsal and performance in television/film acting which enables you to broaden practical knowledge and performative techniques needed in current media.
Further Acting Techniques and Performance
Building on your learning from the Acting Techniques and Performance you further develop acting techniques to a live production and reflect on your development. You gain enhanced skills in communication, organisation, and practical applications such as flair, professionalism and technique.
Further Dance Techniques
You build on skills developed in the earlier module and gain a deeper r understanding of musicality, rhythm, and dynamics and retaining choreographic material. Your technique classes increase in difficulty and versatility
Singing Techniques, Music Theory and Performance
Explore and develop an understanding of the ever-changing landscape of singing techniques, music theory and performance.
Work Ready Experience 2
Apply the knowledge and skills you have gained across all modules to two live briefs. There are two performances across the course of the academic year including a full-length play at the end of the academic year.

You study the arts in a range of ways including practical workshops, lectures, seminars and tutorials. Tutorials help you to discover and develop your personal aptitude for your chosen career path.
Teaching staff on the programme are all industry professionals with specific teaching and industry knowledge for their area.
You are assessed in a variety of ways, including essays, reports, presentations and performance observations. There are no external exams. Each assessment is carefully designed to give you the necessary tools to succeed.
