    Natural Language Processing (Certificate NDP)

    About

The 9-credit hour Natural Language Processing (NLP) Certificate will provide graduate students the training they need in natural language processing - teaching computers to use language by extracting knowledge from text, and then using that knowledge in meaningful ways such as text summarization, speech recognition, text to speech, and related areas. The certificate provides training in statistical NLP, computational linguistics, speech technology, text retrieval and/or neural networks. The certificate signals to employers that students have the skills for applying NLP tools to human language data sources.

The Natural Language Processing (NLP) Certificate is distinct in its accessibility for students from across domains, fields, and disciplines at the University. It serves students who bring more language expertise than computational expertise than other data-oriented courses and programs on campus.
