    Overview Areas of StudyThe Near Eastern Languages and Cultures program of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has a number of sub-disciplines: Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations, Arabic, Armenian, Assyriology, Egyptology, Hebrew Bible, Iranian, Jewish Studies, Levantine Studies, Near Eastern Archaeology, Semitics, and Turkic.For each option, concentration may be on the linguistic, the literary, or in the case of Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations, the archaeological aspect of the field. I want to find another Master Course NELC students originate from a number of countries and diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. Upon graduation many assume academic positions and others pursue a wide variety of occupations not only in the United States but also all over the world.The department’s faculty consist of more than thirty-five faculty and lecturers teaching a wide variety of classes covering the languages, literatures, religions, and histories of the Near and Middle East. Students are also encouraged to take courses with faculty from other departments in the Humanities and Social Science divisions, as befits their chosen course of study.
