Nurse Executive

About

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree will provide additional education for nurses in upper-level administration and executive roles. The Nurse Executive role prepares top level nurse executives for leadership positions in a health system. The program outcomes are consistent with the American Organization of Nursing Leaders (AONL) guidelines for nurse executive practice. The course content focuses on executive leadership skills, working with vulnerable populations, fiscal and human resource management, quality magnet achievement, emerging technology, and organizational research in clinical issues. Students participate in executive internships throughout the program in their home area.

Graduates of the program have become chief nurse executives of large health systems, secured jobs in healthcare business intelligence, and have developed business models for innovative new programs within health care organizations
Program provides a minimum of 560 clinical hours within four practicum courses
MSN courses with a supervised clinical practicum component will be considered for transfer credit toward the total clinical hour requirement
