Nursing - Advancing Child Health and Wellbeing (1 year full-time M.Sc./P.Grad.Dip)

Course Overview

This programme will enable students to strengthen and develop the knowledge, skills competencies, and attitudes necessary to advance care for the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. The modules offered are grounded in a body of evidence-based knowledge that promotes excellence in contemporary nursing practice.

The course provides advanced study in research methods, the theoretical and practical aspects of management, clinical practice and leadership and child health perspectives as well as contemporary issues in child health and wellbeing.

Applicants must hold at least an upper second-class (2.1) Honours undergraduate degree in nursing or a related discipline or equivalent professional and academic qualification.

They must also hold current registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, or, in the case of international applicants (for theory-only learning strands), be registered as a professional nurse in their own country.

All applicants to Trinity are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language. Graduates can be expected to provide quality nursing care and promote and develop excellence in their practice setting. In applying their learning, they will identify and address the need to integrate high-quality care delivery with societal and healthcare demands in rapidly changing environments; this is critical to meeting service-user and healthcare service needs.
