    How to Apply

As an international applicant you will require a Tier 4 visa to study with us. We therefore require some additional information (beyond the evidence to meet our standard course entry criteria) to support your application.

    • A Statement of Intent – this should be a strong statement explaining your reasons for wanting to study in the UK and specifically at Buckinghamshire New University. It should demonstrate an understanding of where BNU is located geographically and what modules you would be studying on your chosen course.
    • Please note that at a later stage in the process the admissions team will contact you to conduct an admissions interview, either face to face or by Skype if you are outside the UK. This will take place when all documentation has been collected and further information and an interview invitation will be sent separately.
    • Bank statements - we require a bank statement in your name or your legal guardians name. We will require the total balance of £22,000 and this amount should be in the account for a minimum 28 consecutive days. We will require this statement now and again before the CAS is issued. Please see the fee amount broken down below:

1st years tuiton fees (£12,000) and living costs for 9 months (£9135) + £1,000 (buffer amount) to cater for exchange rates etc

Check you meet the entry requirements

Once you’ve had a good look at our course information, and chosen which one feels right for you, before applying it’s worth checking that you meet the entry requirements for your country.

We welcome applications from students with a wide range of qualifications from around the world. You’ll find details of the exact academic and English language requirements for your country on our country pages.

Every student studying with us also needs to meet our English language requirements and we will ask you to provide evidence to show you have good enough English to study a higher education course in the UK.

    Different ways to apply

When you are ready to apply for your course, you can do so in one of three ways:

    • directly through our application portal
    • through UCAS, or
    • through a recruitment agent in your country (see your country page for details of agents we work with who are operating locally to you).

It doesn’t matter which of these routes you use, but we advise you to apply early to give yourself enough time to prepare for moving to the UK and arranging your visa, if you need one.

If you’ve missed out on your first choices, declined any offers made to you, or you’re applying to university after 30 June, you can also apply to us through Clearing.

    EU Students Information

There is still some uncertainty about the impact of Brexit and what it means for everyone long term. But we do know that Britain's withdrawal from the EU is likely to be a gradual process.

We are keen to emphasise that our door remains very much open to EU students. We continue to welcome applications, and our priority is to support you to successfully complete your studies at Bucks, and give you skills to succeed after university.

If you are coming here to study from an EU country:

EU, EEA and Swiss students applying this year (2020), to start their course in the UK next year (2021)

    • You will need to apply for a student visa through the new points-based immigration system. You can apply up to 6 months in advance of your course starting. Find out more about the UK points-based immigration system.

EU, EEA and Swiss students who have started / are starting their course this year (2020) and who will arrive in the UK by 31 December 2020

    • If you arrive in the UK by 31 December 2020, apply to the EU Settlement Scheme by 30 June 2021 to continue living in the UK. Find out more about the EU Settlement Scheme.
