    Nursing Practice (Adult) BSc (Hons)

    About

    This degree combines professional placements in community healthcare settings with state-of-the-art simulation, which is embedded throughout our course and allows our students to experience real life scenarios within the safety of the University setting. Graduates will be eligible to register as an adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery council.

    From day one, youll start to develop the essential care skills and will integrate theory with practice by completing a variety of clinical placements. Throughout the course, you will gain a plethora of skills and knowledge that you will be able to apply to future roles after graduation when you register as a fully qualified adult nurse.

    You will spend 50% of your time in clinical practices across a variety of hospital and community settings. Your work could range from providing care during a time of sudden or severe illness, to helping someone manage a life-long illness.

    The course operates on a modular basis. Each credit taken equates to a total study time of around 10 hours. Total study time includes scheduled teaching, independent study and assessment activity.

    All students take a total of 120 credits per level and 360 credits for the degree as a whole. Your overall grade for the course and your degree classification are based on the marks obtained for modules taken at levels 5 and 6.

    Undergraduate (bachelors) degrees

    To apply for an undergraduate (bachelors) degree you need one of the following qualifications:

    • Community College Diploma / Associate Degree with a minimum grade GPA of 2.5
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 28 points overall
    • Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution

    Integrated masters and two-year accelerated degrees

    To apply for an integrated masters or two-year accelerated degree you need one of the following qualifications:

    •  Community College Diploma / Associate Degree with a minimum grade of 2.8
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 30 points overall
    • Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution

    English Program Requirements

    The majority of our undergraduate bachelor degree courses require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0, with 5.5 in reading, writing, speaking and listening. However, we also accept a wide range of qualifications from around the world. The following qualifications are acceptable for most of our Bachelor degree courses.

    Nursing is a career that offers excellent prospects and earning potential. On qualification you will start on over £25k and with experience and further development & training you have the potential to reach positions in advanced clinical practice where you could earn over £49k.

    Graduates from our Nursing Practice (Adult) degree have followed a diverse range of career pathways in a wide variety of clinical specialisms and roles. Roles range from staff nurse in an acute hospital or community-based setting, to specialist practitioner in areas such as cancer care, sexual health, long-term condition management or older adult care.
