Performing Arts

If you are motivated and dedicated, with a passion for performing arts as well as an ambition to pursue a career in theatre, then this course is for you! Through it you will gain a wide variety of essential skills for working within the theatre industry or to continue your studies onto a HND and degree course in order to develop your skills further. The Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Performing Arts is aimed at combining creative and professional units to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in the performing arts. Those learners who progress to HND in Year 2 of their studies will undertake their Higher National Diploma will be able to specialise in one of four chosen fields: Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance or Technical Arts. You will be tutored by teachers and practitioners working in the field with experience and knowledge across the industry. In addition, the College maintains strong links with local theatres, offering workshops and performance opportunities in partnership with these organisations. Additionally, guest lecturers from a variety of backgrounds are also invited to give you a valuable insight into real, professional and creative performing arts practice. The course has been developed in order to cover a broad range of skills and develop your understanding of how to create theatre for a contemporary audience. Units you will study are:
