About
Enhance your nursing practice by developing theoretical knowledge necessary to provide evidence-based, quality care to our older population with RCSI School of Nursing and Midwifery.
You will also explore mental health disorders and dementia in older adults and consider the important role of person-centred care. With critical discussion of contemporary issues surrounding legislation and quality improvement, you will develop as a thoughtful practitioner ready to respond accordingly to the professional challenges you face every day.
Please note that this programme is delivered in partnership with Beaumont Hospital. If you are working in community-based older persons' services, the RCSI strand of this programme may be more appropriate for you.
This programme is delivered part-time via an active blended learning approach including self-directed learning and live online classes approximately once every week. Further support is provided through the module lead, programme director and regular online drop-in sessions.
The award title for this course is Postgraduate Certificate Nursing (Gerontology).
