Program details
The Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Max Rady College of Medicine offer a program of study leading to a Master of Science in Physiology and Pathophysiology.
Expected duration: 2-3 years
Tuition and fees: One year tuition, then continuing fees in subsequent years (refer to Graduate tuition and fees).
In addition to the minimum course requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, found in the Graduate Studies Regulations Section, students must complete:
- a minimum of 9 credit hours or 1.5 full-credit equivalents in 7000-level courses in any suitable discipline, including four 1.5 credit hour courses in respiratory-, cardiovascular-, endocrine, and neuro-physiology and related pathophysiology, as well as a required 3 credit hour course in trainee skills. These courses are modular and allow completion within three terms regardless of term of entry. Students must obtain a minimum B grade in these courses.
- a master's thesis
The program includes approval of a research plan (thesis proposal), annual evaluation of student knowledge in their area of study, as well as research and a thesis demonstrating an appreciation and application of scientific method.
