    About

    Major pipeline companies are facing a knowledge gap, needing engineers who understand the technical, operational and commercial aspects of pipeline design, construction and management.

    Complete the Schulich School of Engineering's Pipeline Engineering Certificate to enhance your understanding of the pipeline sector and open new doors in your career. This certificate is designed for professional engineers, engineers-in-training and engineering graduate students in mechanical, civil or chemical and petroleum engineering. Students will benefit from advanced training in conceptualization and design, construction, operation and maintenance of pipelines.

    Courses will be offered in the evening to accommodate working professionals. 

    Completing this program

    • Courses: Students will complete four courses including at least one on the theme of conceptualization and design such as Pipeline Design, Gas & Liquid Hydraulics, Materials Selection and Metallurgy, and at least one course on the theme of construction such as Construction and Project Management, Operation and Maintenance, and Integrity Management. 

    Energy sector: oil and gas pipeline design, construction and maintenance; geotechnical engineering, integrity management, inspection and leak detection, pipeline operations. 

    A course-based certificate in Pipeline Engineering is usually considered a final credential
