Plant Science

Plants are vital for life on Earth. They provide us with the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the drugs that may save our lives. On our plant science degree, we'll teach you about the diversity, evolution and physiology of plant life.

For compulsory modules, you'll spend around 70% of your time in the lab or in the field. This includes taking trips to destinations like Cyprus and Tenerife to see the variety of plants there are in the world. You'll use industry-standard technology to hone your practical and research skills. There's also a chance to gain an extra qualification in canopy biology and access – unique in the UK.

Your tutors are published plant science researchers, contributing to some of the best plant science journals in the world. They'll teach you relevant, contemporary skills and theory.

Trace the evolution of life, examining the diversity of plants and animals, including humans. Take part in residential fieldwork, where we'll show you how to complete biological research. And broaden your knowledge of the discipline through modules in cell biology and genetics.

International Foundation Programme

Students whose qualifications do not meet our general entrance or course requirements may need to take an International Foundation Programme to qualify for entry to an undergraduate degree programme.

Applicants should have completed the Thawjihiyah (Saudi High School)

Grade 80%+

Undergraduate Programmes

Applicants should have completed an appropriate pre-university programme required
OR
Successfully completed the first year in recognised Saudi Arabian University

GPA of 3.5 or 5.0 depending on course

International Baccalaureate

We are happy to accept students who have completed the IB qualification. We will use UCAS Tariff scores to assess a student’s suitability. Subject-specific requirements at Higher Level (HL) Grade 5 may apply. For clarity of entry requirements for the course you’re interested in, please contact the International Office.

You can apply for full-time undergraduate degree programmes through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service)

Edge Hill’s institution code is EHU E42, and you should ensure that this is entered clearly on your application form, together with the code for the course you wish to apply for. The course codes are listed on the course pages of this website.

2. Via one of our agents or partners:

Our agent or partner will support you in making your application to Edge Hill University. Our agents and partners have had lots of experience helping people to apply to us and they will be able to guide you and make sure that you have included al the documents that we will need. Once you have submitted the application form and all the supporting documentation to our agent or partner they will send them to us.
