In your first year, you’ll build a strong foundation in criminal justice and criminology, exploring its history and modern developments. You’ll focus on two key areas: digital investigation and investigation skills. Through hands-on work with devices like phones and laptops, you’ll learn how we use technology in investigations.
You’ll explore advanced topics like password cracking, steganography, OSINT and money laundering. You’ll also develop essential skills such as taking witness statements, conducting interviews, planning warrants and presenting evidence in our moot courtroom.
You’ll look at the broader law enforcement landscape, including key agencies like the NCA and GCHQ. This will show you the importance of multi-agency collaboration. You’ll also gain insights into victim vulnerability, exploitation, counterterrorism, criminology and fraud recovery.
