    About

    Am I a curious dreamer? Am I a visual problem solver? Am I a reflective communicator? If you want the answer to these questions to be a strong yes, then the content is this series of visual podcasts will help you get there.

    This online course unpacks Gray’s portfolio grading process, looking at how to evidence the key mindsets and behaviours that we think will make you a creative practitioner. The Curious Dreamer, the Visual Problem Solver and the Reflective Communicator. A mix of recorded and online sessions guide you through these and how applying them will allow you to generate a successful folio.

    Learning Methods

    This course will be delivered online using the University’s virtual learning environment, CampusMoodle.

    Activity Summary

    • 8 online lectures, each recorded session is 20 minuites in duration
    • 4 live sessions, 1 hour each with demonstrationsand Q&A

    This course is not formally assessed.

    Independent Study

    Students are expected to apply the content from the sessions to the development of their own portfolio, to nurture and direct their own creative direction.

    Staff Delivering on this Course

    The course is delivered by staff with experience of the Gray’s admissions process and a keen understanding of the transitions between learning at Secondary schools and University/College.

    Entry Requirements

    • Applicants who do not hold an International High School qualification will be expected to undertake a pathway programme at our International College

    English Program Requirements

    Most undergraduate courses require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each area. Some courses require a higher English language score. Always check the relevant course page and our English Language Requirements page before applying.

    Career

    On successful completion of this course students should have a portfolio of work that represents them and their interests.

    This will equip them to apply to a wide range of Art or Design or similar course related to the Creative Industries that ask for a portfolio as part of the entry requirements.

    Key to the course is appropriate advice as to the correct level of progress a student canexpect, whether that is applying to a course at University or College level.

    How to Apply

    • Completing an existing course (for example passing your Bachelors before coming to do a Masters with us). Please upload your degree documents to your Apply Yourself record or email the Admissions Office with these.
    • Proving that your English language is good enough for University-level study. In this case you should send us a copy of your IELTS or TOEFL certificate as soon as it is available. Please upload these documents to your Apply Yourself record or email the Admissions Office with these.
    • Making a pre-payment (deposit) for international students. In this case you must arrange to pay the  University before we can release an Unconditional Offer. To find out how to do this, please visit the Making Payment page.
