The bachelors program Prevocational Education with teacher training as a secondary subject is the first step towards acquiring the qualifications needed to teach Economy-Work-Technology (Wirtschaft-Arbeit-Technik, WAT) atSekundarstufe I.
This degree program focuses on human labor, particularly gainful employment and domestic work. Students in this program are taught an integrated combination of technical content and pedagogical skills in the areas of economics, technology, and housework. The study subject prevocational education and the school subject economy-work-technology thus promote the development of everyday skills for life management and design. The curriculum places particular importance on action-oriented methods and training in prevocational teaching workshops.
This degree program can be taken with Prevocational Education selected as a secondary subject, while a core subject is studied at Freie Universitt Berlin or Humboldt-Universitt zu Berlin.
