Are you looking for a rewarding career where you will be able to impact the most crucial years of a child's development? Our PGCE Primary (School based) course is for you.
We develop excellent teachers who are resilient, critical, and reflective classroom practitioners. You will benefit from the university’s commitment to inclusivity, diversity and serving disadvantaged communities. Our engaging and well-structured curriculum, coupled with real-life placement-based training, thoroughly prepares trainees to enter the world of teaching.
This school-based PGCE Primary course prepares new teachers to excel in their teaching careers, making a positive difference to the lives of the children they teach.
Throughout the course, trainee teachers will be challenged to achieve the highest professional standards as we support them to achieve outstanding levels of professional practice through both the taught curriculum and their placement practice.
Trainee teachers will follow one of two pathways: 3-7 years, covering Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or 5–11 years, covering Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The age phase route chosen will determine which placements a student will follow.
