    About

A broad education in engineering fundamentals, and the opportunity to specialize enables the attendees to analyze and solve complex problems in the field of process engineering and natural materials technology. The graduates acquire the necessary scientific and engineering skills for their future professional experience, and they are bale to communicate with neighboring disciplines such as engineering, energy processing, or materials technology. The first part of the curriculum provides generic skills in science with special emphasis on product properties and material transfer processes, and learning units in engineering provide the necessary technical competence. Units in electrics and electronics, data processing, materials processing, and automation also provide basic skills for the future specialization within the courses. The learning course "Basic principles of process engineering and natural materials technology" helps to deepen the understanding for further specialization. This specialization, that can be applied for from the third to the fifth year of the curriculum comprises five important fields of process engineering and natural materials technology. In the respective fields, the students acquire the respective knowledge and the scientific skills that are necessary to have in the respective responsible positions on the job. The specialization disciplines are: General process engineering, Bioprocess engineering, Chemical engineering, Wood and fiber materials engineering, and Food engineering. A sixteen-week internship offers the necessary practical insights into process engineering and natural materials technology.
