Course Information
Our degree in product design engineering has been designed through our close industry links with leading engineering and design companies and provides the specialist knowledge and expertise required for a professional career in product design. Project-based learning in all years, including live industry-led projects, will help you develop the transferable skills and multi-disciplinary awareness so highly prized by industry.

Requirements
Entry Requirements
You should have the Tawjihi plus a recognised foundation or diploma (from a community college) or an Intermediate Diploma/Associate Degree.
English Program Requirements
You need to have a recognised English language qualification to study at Manchester Metropolitan.
The score required will vary depending on the qualification and the area of study you have chosen. If you hold an offer of a place from the University, your offer will give you the specific requirements for your course.
Typical International English Language Testing System (IELTS) requirements are:
- 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any section) or equivalent for undergraduate courses
- 6.5 (no less than 5.5 in any section) or equivalent for postgraduate courses

Graduates of this course go on to establish their own creative businesses as self-employed practitioners, or pursue careers as product designers, furniture designers, ceramicists, jewellers, retailers, gallery owners, retail buyers, design managers, design consultants, teachers and lecturers.

1. Apply
Apply via UCAS
UCAS Apply is an online application system and is suitable if you have regular access to the internet. You can apply for up to five courses. That could be five different courses at a single university or five courses at different institutions.
UCAS Apply is offered through schools, colleges or British Council Offices if they are a registered UCAS centre. You can also make an independent application.
Manchester Metropolitan University’s institution code is ‘M40’.
You should ensure that this code is entered clearly on your application form, together with the code for the course you wish to apply for. Find your individual foundation year course code on our list of courses with a foundation year or find an undergraduate course code using our online prospectus.
The deadline for UCAS applications is 6:00pm UK time on 30 June. Applications received after this date will automatically be entered into UCAS Clearing.

Receiving and accepting your offer
You can log on to UCAS Track to check on the progress of your application.
Once we have made a decision on your application, we will update it on UCAS Track. If we make you an offer, you will be able to accept it online.

2. Meet your offer conditions
If you have met all of the entry requirements for your course when you applied, we can make you an unconditional offer. You can skip to the next step.
If you are waiting for the results of further exams or language tests, we may decide to make you a conditional offer. If your offer is conditional, you must email evidence of meeting your offer conditions to our admissions team. Please refer to your offer letter for contact details.

3. Pay your deposit
If you have accepted your offer to study at Manchester Metropolitan, you must pay a tuition fee deposit to secure your place.
The deposit is first of your tuition fee payments. It is deducted from your total tuition fees.
