    Professional Contexts in Advancing Practice

    About

    This module explores the professional strategic, cultural and organisational contexts involved with advancing professional practice. Within the areas of complexity and diversity in healthcare, students explore knowledge, evidence and policy agendas in their area of practice, encompassing regulatory, legal and credentialing requirements. Information technology and contemporary health communication.

    • Knowledge, evidence and policy agendas of advancing practice in your area of practice, encompassing regulatory, legal and credentialing requirements.
    • Specialist areas of practice that contributes to the processes of personal and professional development in advancing nursing practice.
    • Diversity and complexity within communities and the workplace.
    • How information technology and contemporary health communication can enhance and improve performance in practice and health outcomes.
    • The healthcare environment in the context of advancing practice by considering the strategic, cultural and organisational challenges.

    Learning Methods

    This module runs over 12 weeks. It is delivered online for 6 weeks, followed by 4 weeks of preparation of the academic summative assessment. This module is delivered online through the University's Virtual Learning Environment, CampusMoodle.

    Independent Study

    You are expected to undertake approximately 15 hours per week of independent study.

    • Applicants who do not hold an International High School qualification will be expected to undertake a pathway programme at our International College

    English Program Requirements

    Most undergraduate courses require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each area. Some courses require a higher English language score. Always check the relevant course page and our English Language Requirements page before applying.

    Credit from this module may contribute to the MSc Advancing Practice (Nursing) or the University’s Professional Studies Framework.
