The purpose of the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) is to allow a registered nurse with at least a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) to obtain a nurse practitioner certification by completing the required coursework to prepare for the certification exam. The program coordinator will conduct a gap analysis of applicants' academic transcripts in order to identify the courses they will need to complete in order to obtain the relevant post master's certificate. The CAGS is available in three practice areas: Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Once accepted, students will take the required courses according to their personal course sequence. Upon successfully completing the course sequence, students will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the certification exam.

College Transcript and Copy of Original Degree – If you have completed more than one degree, all academic credentials should be submitted. Additionally, if your document is not translated to English a certified English translation is required.
Standardized English language test score – a TOEFL minimum score of 70, IELTS minimum score of 6.0, PTE minimum score of 50 or Duolingo test minimum score of 120 for traditional admissions.

Professional resume/CV
Recommendations – a minimum of 2 are required for Master’s programs, and a minimum of 3 are required for Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs.
Statement of professional objectives – Provide reasons for pursuing the program applied. Describe how you will use this program to reach your career goes, and educational goals beyond the master’s level if applicable. Students should also identify personal qualities that they want the committee to see in them, such as leadership, concerns for others, talent, etc.
