The public sector is a large employer in Canada that requires a diverse pool of employees to have knowledge of public law and public administration. The demand for professionals with grounding in public administration is continues to increase given current demographic trends and expected retirements of public sector employees.
Students pursuing the Public Administration & Law certificate will develop a knowledge of public administration; an understanding of the role of law within government; and become familiar with the legal and administrative workings of government. Honing their research skills, students will analyze the relationship between law, politics and public administration.

- current York students who are not in the Public Administration degree program, or
- new applicants to York who hold a university degree in a discipline other than public administration.
