The School of Public Health at Brown University Accelerated Master of Public Health (MPH) for Clinicians is a comprehensive, fast-paced, program designed to deliver an academically rigorous and practical public health education.
The program is designed for professionals who already hold doctoral degrees in healthcare-related fields or those who have completed at least two years of medical school. The curriculum expands the student's scope of knowledge by bringing public health expertise to their field and prepares them to:

- Serve a role in public health as a clinician or scientist
- Engage in public health research and obtain grants and other types of funding
- Enhance their expertise in public health, which will also benefit the institutions where they work
The Accelerated MPH for Clinicians program comprises:
- 10.5 units (i.e., the equivalent of 42 semester credits) that students can complete in one year (i.e., July through May), beginning with an online session in the summer
- A curriculum that enables clinical professionals to achieve a deep and broad understanding of public health at a pace that complements their existing expertise and experience
The Brown University School of Public Health has great strengths in teaching students at all levels of experience to translate public health principles into policy, practice and research. Drawing on expertise from faculty within biostatistics, epidemiology, health services, policy and practice, and behavioral sciences, the Accelerated MPH program is designed to transform clinicians into public health experts, researchers and leaders.
Upon completion of the Accelerated MPH for Clinicians, students should be able to:
- Design clinical trials
