    Develop your capabilities in the application of economic and econometric methods with the Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics and Data Analytics program at the University at Albany.     • Understand the economic issues and problems faced by individuals, organizations and society; the economic principles that help explain behavior; the operation of markets; the gains from trade; and the range of institutions that affect the allocation of resources.
    • Be able to apply methods of economic analysis (such as supply and demand, equilibrium, constrained optimization and dynamic analysis) to decision-making, behavior and economic outcomes.
    • Have the ability independently to apply state-of-the-art tools and advanced methods of statistical and econometric analysis to estimate economic relations and validity of economic hypotheses.
    • Be able to communicate economic analysis and empirical conclusions in the discussion of social phenomena and public policy.
    • Develop mastery of issues and methods of analysis in the practice of specific fields of economic study such as labor, money and banking, public finance, international trade and finance, development, health and the environment.

    Entry Requirements

    All applicants must arrange for their official school and/or college transcripts to be sent to us.

    • First-year (freshmen) applicants: You must submit an official transcript from your secondary school for admissions purposes.

    • Transfer applicants: You must submit official transcripts of all college and/or university work, even if you don't expect to receive transfer credit. If you've completed fewer than 24 transferable college credits, you'll also need to submit an official transcript from your secondary school for admissions purposes.

    If you are admitted, you will also need to submit an official final transcript from your secondary school showing your date of graduation.

    Academic transcripts in languages other than English must be accompanied by an official, certified English translation.

    Transcript Evaluation 

    A transcript evaluation allows the review committee to correctly compare the quality of your school, coursework and grades with all other applicants. 

    Although not required, we accept SpanTran or WES evaluations sent from the organization directly to the University at Albany.

    Other evaluation services can only be used if they require official documents directly from the institution of higher education, not the student, to evaluate coursework. The organization must also be accredited by NACES.
