Foundation year degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly enter their chosen Honours degree programme.
This course draws on knowledge from all the necessary strands of engineering. You’ll develop robotic and mechatronic systems for a range of applications including modern manufacturing, aerospace, and the nuclear industry.
At the end of your foundation year you'll have the skills to progress to the full BEng (Hons) Robotics Engineering course, or a related degree. In the full course you'll develop a wide skills base with a particular emphasis on complex systems for tele-operated, semi-autonomous and autonomous robots. You’ll incorporate aspects of sensing, control theory, computational intelligence, and computing in your learning.
