About

The Graduate Certificate in Serious Crime Investigation is a one-year, full-time online programme designed for graduates of the special purpose award in Serious Crime Investigation delivered by The Garda Training College in Templemore, Co. Tipperary. The Certificate is ideally suited to members of An Garda Síochána who are looking to capitalize on their existing expertise in the field of modern policing and develop an advanced and integrated understanding of the legal issues which surround serious crime investigation. Requirements

Entry Requirements

3.0 for applicants whose degrees are marked on a 4 point GPA scale.
4.0 for applicants whose degrees are marked on a 5 point GPA scale.
Please note, consideration will be given to applicants with 3.70 or higher on a 5 point scale but these applicants will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Some programmes may require an interview and/or work experience.

English Program Requirements

DUOLINGO

The minimum requirement will be a DET score of 120 with no less than 110 in any component.
An interview may be required in conjunction with this for certain programmes.

TOEFL580 (paper based) or 90 (internet based)

IELTS

Minimum score of 6.5* with no less than 6.0 in any component.
*Please note some programmes have a higher IELTS requirement.

**Please note, we can only accept Academic IELTS. General IELTS will not be accepted.

PEARSON TEST OF ENGLISH (ACADEMIC) - PTE ACADEMIC:a minimum score of 61 (with no section score below 59)
