Overview
This interdisciplinary course is suitable for clinicians from a range of settings who care for people who have received a diagnosis of skin cancer.
The module aims to:
- Deepen clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills by strengthening understanding of pathophysiology and anatomical examination of different types of skin cancer
- Develop critical understandings of risk factors, oncogenetics and the staging and grading of skin cancer
- Enhance clinical competence within scope of practice in the identification and management of clients with skin cancer
- Strengthen clinical communication skills with patients and families
- Identify opportunities to improve quality of care and service delivery
- Address the unique needs of clients with skin cancer
The module is delivered through blended learning, with both online and campus-based teaching.
