    Are you interested in how people organize and move within social life? Would you like to learn more about social justice and policy, cultures and subcultures, gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, work and leisure? When you study Sociology you develop a quality of mind—a sociological imagination—that allows you to think about the world around you in new ways. Degree: Bachelor of Arts The Sociology program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers a major, a minor, and five joint majors. You can start this program at either the Burnaby or Surrey campus.

    Entry Requirements

    Tawjihiyah (General Secondary Education Certificate)

    • Submit transcript which includes grades for all courses completed and final grades for the first semester of Senior Year. Admission is calculated on senior level academic subjects.

    English Program Requirements

    English is the language of instruction at SFU. All applicants, regardless of country of origin or citizenship status, will be required to have demonstrated competence in the English language prior to admission. Competence is required in all four of the following skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.

    How to Apply

    Admission to SFU Beedie School of Business is based on a combination of your academic performance and an assessment of your Supplemental Application*.

    You can access your Supplemental Application 24-hours after you receive your SFU 9-digit Student Number (User ID Number) in Step 2.

    * Fall applicants via entrance scholarship

    SFU Beedie School of Business Fall applicants with a complete and eligible Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES) application (including all transcripts, references and any additional documents required for admission) are not required to submit the Supplemental Application. Refer to SFU Financial Aid and Awards for details on the application process and requirements.

    * Applicants via the Aboriginal Undergraduate Admissions Policy

    SFU Beedie School of Business applicants with a complete and eligible Supplemental Aboriginal Undergraduate Admission form are not required to submit the Beedie Supplemental Application. Connect with SFU's Indigenous Student Recruitment team for details on the application process.

    To submit required documents including proof of name, citizenship and residency please use the documents via upload form. Transcripts must be submitted by mail.
